We need to talk about a misunderstanding that quietly limits so many people on their awakening path, the idea that spirituality is self-improvement.
For more than twenty years I’ve walked beside women on the path of awakening, and I see this pattern repeat: we come to our spirituality believing we are broken, sinful, or in need of fixing. We use our practices to correct perceived flaws, to “be better,” to become more spiritual. That belief that we are a problem to be solved is the very thing that keeps us from real awakening.
Self-awareness isn’t the goal, self-realisation is.
When our spiritual life becomes a tool for self-correction, we pathologise our humanity. True spirituality isn’t about self-awareness in the therapeutic sense. It’s about self-realisation, the lived knowing that I am that I am. Divine Mother, Father, God, Source, Spirit, whatever language you use, this truth is universal.
When we embody self-realisation, we no longer see ourselves as broken. We stop withholding from ourselves the very devotion that heals us. And perhaps most importantly, we remember, it’s not about us.
The Law of Mentalism teaches that all is one. When I show up to my practices I am not doing so just for myself. I am contributing energy to the quantum field on behalf of all beings.
This reframes devotion as an act of service. When we anchor our awakening in the truth that our energy benefits the collective, we move out of self-loathing and self-sabotage. We stop making our spirituality another arena for performance or perfectionism, and instead, we offer our devotion as medicine to a world in need.
The Law of Correspondence reminds us: as above, so below; as within, so without. To give is to receive.
So many on the path pride themselves on generosity, compassion, and giving. If we are unwilling to receive, we block the flow of energy and violate this law. Our giving loses power when it comes from martyrdom or self-atonement.
True giving from self-realisation includes the willingness to receive from the universe. It’s not about getting something back from the same person or situation. It’s about trusting that the energy you offer will return to you, balanced, through the infinite field of divine reciprocity.
You are not broken. You are not incomplete. You are already divine consciousness remembering itself.
The ego wants to keep you running on the treadmill of self-improvement, constantly fixing, analysing, and “healing” but your awakening is not therapy. It’s the remembrance that you are already whole.
Let your spiritual practice become an act of collective liberation. Each time you sit in devotion, you contribute peace, coherence, and love to the field we all share.
In every devotion I lead, I include this prayer:
“We dedicate this practice to the liberation of all sentient beings everywhere, for we never do this work for ourselves alone. May peace prevail on earth as it prevails within me.”
This prayer is the heart of self-realisation. Your awakening is service. Your remembering serves the whole.
If you know there’s a deeper level of intuitive trust waiting to be remembered, then my Spiritually Fierce program is for you. This is our flagship intuition bootcamp, based on my bestselling book Spiritually Fierce. It’s a live training experience that teaches you how to build the kind of embodied intuition that becomes your constant state of being.
You’ll learn the science and spiritual practice of intuitive intelligence, how to dissolve fear, increase divine self-worth, and make decisions that align with your highest consciousness.
The next live round begins January 2026. Join me and step fully into your spiritual self-realisation, not as self-improvement, but as service to all.
